Excursion to Essaouira - 1 day
In former times called Mogador, Essaouira has been influenced by many different peoples, from the Romans to the Portuguese and not to forget by the Arabs and the Berber people. Because of the history, the city keeps beautiful vestiges from these people in the form of monuments or the inhabitants’ traditions. We explore the Medina and Portuguese fortresses from the XVIII century. We continue our trip to an Argan forest, a tree which only exists in this area. We eat one of the famous fish dishes and return to Marrakesh.
EXCELLENTVerified Intense and joyful experience We spent seven days in Morocco. The first and last in Marrakech, where the first day Hassan showed us the city in perfect Spanish. The other five were spent with Omar, whom we felt as part of the family from the first moment. The trip was perfectly organized. The riads we stayed in in Marrakech, Ourzazate and Dades, lovely clean and cozy hotels, the jaima next to the dunes in Merzouga, luxury. All in all, the highlight of the trip was Omar’s continued attention, and the amount of information he provided. Throughout the trip he explained everything we saw, and we kept riddling him with questions about any aspect of Moroccan culture, which he answered profusely and kindly. That's priceless.
